Title: Medical Legal Illustration: Breast Cancer Case
Comments: These medical legal illustrations, used in the Cambridge, Massachusetts LaMonica case in September, 1998, were used by the law firm of Lubin & Meyer to demonstrate the medical facts in the case.
The illustration above on the left is designed to compare the appearance of a tumor and a cyst, and to demonstrate that a tumor aspirates differently from a cyst.
The illustration on the right is designed to show the quadrants of the breast, and to demonstrate the spread of cancer to local lymph nodes.
Outcome of the case: $11 million for the plaintiff. See the Lubin & Meyer note on this case.
