Beautiful forms, many of them seem to evoke a union between Roman and Kana (Japanese syllabary), specifically the Hiragana type, with some Aboriginal elements in there. I am an artist who has also studied world writing systems.

Thank you Steven! My love of the alphabets is fairly new. For me, it is intertwined with my love for Asian spontaneous painting approaches (following ch’i and li). It has to do with first strokes and root strokes, and how these will be foundational to what is built upon them. As an illustrator, drawing so many strokes in such detail, I had ignored this idea. I so appreciate your insight. I’ve been looking at Hiragana type since you mentioned it here. And I can see why it came to mind. Hiragana looks particularly beautiful, I think.
